Another common inquiry we get is whether our shipping containers can be used off-grid. The short answer is 100% yes. If you have some DIY skills you can certainly build out off-grid options for yourself, but we wanted to offer two options as part of an off-grid package you can choose to have implemented on your build.
Solar for Shipping Containers
The roof space on a shipping container can be used for decking to host people and we have discussed your options there in a previous blog post. Another option for the roof of your shipping container would be solar power. With solar arrays installed and integrated into your electrical system you can fully power your shipping container with the power of the sun. This option can be implemented on 20 and 40 ft containers.
Off-grid Water System
Our off-grid water system add on features an above ground septic tank, a 30 ft hose to connect, and 100 gallon water tank for water storage. This is an excellent option for those in remote areas or somewhere water is not readily available. You can select this option as a singular add-on or pair it with our solar installation above for a fully off-grid experience!
