Will Our Taylor Model Be the Winning Move?
We’re excited to share that one of our most popular models, the Taylor, is featured on the newest season of Rock the Block. This HGTV design competition brings together top renovators to transform identical homes and see who can add the most value through smart design. It’s a big opportunity, but it’s not our first time on a major platform. Our builds were also featured on Netflix’s Queer Eye, and we’re proud to continue showing how container homes can hold their own on the national stage.
As this new season kicks off, we’re eager to see how the Taylor model plays into one team’s strategy. Will our container home be the missing piece that helps them take the win? There’s only one way to find out. Tune in and follow the season with us.
What Rock the Block Is All About
Rock the Block isn’t just another renovation show. It’s a high-stakes competition where each team receives the same blank-slate home and a fixed budget. From there, they have to decide how to make the most of the space. The goal is to increase the property’s appraised value more than the other teams. That means every design choice must be strategic, and every investment has to count.
This season, one of the competing teams made a bold move. They added a container-based Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) from Bob’s Containers. It’s a decision that could make all the difference when the final appraisals are in.
ADUs Are a Smart Way to Add Value
When it comes to increasing property value, adding an ADU is one of the most reliable moves a homeowner or investor can make. These secondary units create new livable space, which is highly appealing to buyers. Whether it’s used as a guest suite, a rental unit, or a home office, an ADU expands the property’s potential in a big way.
Container homes are especially effective in this role. They offer a fast, affordable, and flexible way to build additional space. Teams on Rock the Block are competing to get the highest return from every dollar spent, and adding a container ADU is a smart way to do exactly that.
Why the Taylor Model Was a Great Choice
The Taylor model is a versatile multi-container layout that delivers on both style and function. It includes:
-
Private bedrooms and a full bathroom
-
An open-concept living space that can be adapted for different uses
-
Modern finish options including drywall or upgraded shiplap
-
Enough room to live in full time or to serve as a short-term rental or guest home
This model offers a strong balance of design and usability, which is perfect for a show like Rock the Block where every element is judged on value added. The Taylor isn’t just good on camera. It works in real life, too.
What This Means for Container Construction
Seeing our Taylor model appear on HGTV is exciting, but it also signals something bigger. More designers, investors, and everyday homeowners are turning to container builds as a practical and beautiful solution to common space and budget challenges.
This kind of exposure helps people understand what container homes can really offer. They aren’t just for off-grid living or minimalist lifestyles. They are fully finished, well-designed structures that can compete with traditional homes in both appearance and function.

Not Sure if a Container Home Will Work on Your Land?
We offer feasibility studies to help you find out. These low-cost assessments look at your local zoning, setbacks, and property layout to determine whether a container build is a good fit. If you decide to move forward, the cost of the study is credited toward your build.
This step is a great way to get clarity before you commit to a full project.
Will the Taylor Be the Winning Move?
The season is just beginning, and we don’t know yet how everything will unfold. But we’re honored to see our work included among the high-level design decisions being made on this show.
Will the Taylor model be the key to winning Rock the Block? Will a container ADU be the deciding factor that pushes one team ahead?
We’ll be watching every episode right alongside you. Don’t miss it.
